England’s hard-hitting batter Alex Hales on Friday, announced to put an end to his illustrious career at the age of 34 with immediate effect.
Hales signed off as an England international with a T20 World Cup title under his belt. He last featured in an international match against Pakistan at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in November 2022 – the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
“It has been an absolute privilege to have represented my country on 156 occasions across all three formats,” Hales said in a statement.
“Throughout my time in an England shirt I’ve experienced some of the highest highs as well as some of the lowest lows. It’s been an incredible journey and I feel very content that my last game for England was winning a World Cup final.”
Alex Hales represented England in 11 Tests, 70 ODIs and 75 ODIs and accumulated 5066 runs across formats with the help of seven centuries.
