KARACHI: Match officials for the upcoming series between Pakistan and West Indies has been announced. Aleem Dar has also been named in the announcement made on Wednesday.
Aleem, Pakistan’s most experienced umpire and a member of the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires, has been named to officiate three ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League matches between the two teams, and will be joined at the other end by Asif Yaqoob, Ahsan Raza, and Rashid Riaz for the first, second, and third ODIs, respectively.
Ahsan will be the on-field umpire for the first two of the three T20Is, alongside Aleem and Asif respectively. Asif and Yaqoob, sequentially, will serve as third-umpires for the first two matches. Faisal Afridi will be the fourth-umpire in the second, whereas, Rashid will serve as the fourth-umpire in the first T20I.
Aleem and Rashid will be the on-field umpire in the third T20I. The third umpire will be Asif while Faisal will be the fourth umpire of the game.
Match referee Muhammad Javed Malik will lead the playing control for all six matches.
West Indies will visit Pakistan for three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty-Twenty-Innings (T20Is) later this month, from the 13th to the 22nd of December. All matches will be played at the National Stadium in Karachi.
It must be noted that Pakistan is currently on tour in Bangladesh and will depart after the second test. West Indies, on the other hand, will leave Sri Lanka following their second test match against the host nation.
