DUBAI: No Pakistan player could make a cut as the International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed the Women’s ODI Team of the Year 2024 on Friday.
The line-up features three players from England, while two players each from India, South Africa and Australia. Moreover, one player each from Sri Lanka and West Indies also managed to earn a place.
The team, under the leadership of South Africa’s talented Laura Wolvaardt, showcases a selection of outstanding players who have delivered remarkable performances over the past year.
Among those making the list are top-order batters who shone brightly on the international stage, including India’s dynamic Smriti Mandhana, Sri Lanka’s prolific Chamari Athapaththu, and the West Indies’ powerful Hayley Matthews.
Each of these athletes contributed significantly to their teams with their exceptional batting skills, standing out in various high-stakes matches.

The squad’s balance was further enhanced by the inclusion of versatile all-rounders such as Marizanne Kapp, Ashleigh Gardner, and Annabel Sutherland, all of whom have demonstrated their prowess in both batting and bowling.
England’s Amy Jones claimed her position as the wicketkeeper thanks to her reliable performances behind the stumps, and her teammates Sophie Ecclestone and Kate Cross earned recognition for their impactful bowling efforts, consistently rattling opposing lineups.
Completing the lineup is India’s Deepti Sharma, known for her reliability as an all-rounder, adding depth to the team with her consistent contributions.
The ICC Women’s ODI Team of the Year 2024 celebrates the exceptional achievements of these top players, however, players from Pakistan did not live up to the expectations, resulting in their absence from the line-up.
