“Riley’s pace and bounce are something special, and I think he’s going to light up the league. Pakistani fans are passionate about fast bowling, and we love express pace—Riley fits that perfectly.

“What can I say? I’m just glad we won’t have to bowl to him [Short]! He has the ability to dismantle any attack in no time.

“He’s as destructive as they come, and I think he’ll absolutely love playing at our home ground in Rawalpindi.”

It’s worth noting that along with Meredith and Short, Islamabad United also picked Australian left-arm fast bowler Ben Dwarshuis, who has bagged 176 T20 wickets at an average of 22 in 140 games.
