RAWALPINDI: A delegation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) visited the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday to evaluate the progress of the preparations for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.
The delegation, which included representatives from broadcasting and logistics teams, was given a comprehensive briefing by officials from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
PCB’s Director of International Cricket, Usman Wahla, guided the delegation during their inspection of the stadium.
The ICC delegation toured various sections of the venue, including enclosures, the media box, dressing rooms, and other key areas.
The visit was part of a broader ICC inspection tour, which also included assessments of other venues in Pakistan. They inspected Karachi’s National Bank Stadium on 9 January.
They reviewed ongoing upgrades, particularly the installation of chairs in the stadium’s general enclosures.

As part of the renovations, four general enclosures are being equipped with new white and green chairs, symbolizing Pakistan’s national colours.
Sources within the PCB confirmed that the upgradation work at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is expected to be completed by the end of January.
The ninth edition of the ICC Champions Trophy will kick off on 19 February with host and defending champions Pakistan taking on New Zealand in the curtain-raiser in Karachi’s National Bank Stadium.
The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is set to host three matches of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Meanwhile, the season finale is scheduled on 9 March in Lahore, unless India qualify, in which case it will be played in Dubai.
