Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh predicted his finalist teams for the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, being held in the United States of America (USA) and the West Indies.
Singh, who was a part of the Indian side that won the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup in 2007, believes that the two of India, Pakistan or West Indies will make their way to the final. He also expressed his hope of not seeing Australia in the final.
“I’m hoping India, probably West Indies. Pakistan 3, and no Australians (laughs),” stated Yuvraj.
The all-rounder also backed India to win the T20 World Cup 2024 but advised the former champions to back themselves in believe in their abilities.
“I believe we have the self belief of winning big tournaments. I think if India believes and backs themselves and plays to their own strengths, I’m sure they’ll go all the way. And that’s what I believe in,” Press Trust of India (PTI) quoted Yuvraj.
“I think that’s the reason why we won. We focused on where, how we are good and the things that we need to do rather than thinking of where the opposition is going to harm us. We have the match winners,” he added.

For the unversed, Yuvraj Singh was named the ambassador of the T20 World Cup 2024.
He will participate in the World Cup promotional events in the United States before and during the tournament.
He will also attend the much-anticipated match between archrivals India and Pakistan in New York on 9 June.
The former all-rounder expressed his excitement about being the ambassador of the T20 World Cup and shared his best memories from the tournament.
“Some of my fondest cricketing memories have come from playing at the T20 World Cup, including hitting six sixes in an over, so it’s very exciting to be part of this edition, which is set to be the biggest one yet,” Yuvraj said.
“The West Indies is a great place to play cricket with the fans coming to watch creating a vibe that is completely unique to that part of the world, while cricket is also expanding in the USA and I’m excited to be part of that growth through the T20 World Cup.
“India’s clash against Pakistan in New York is going to be one of the biggest sporting fixtures in the world this year, so it’s a privilege to be a part of and to witness the best players in the world playing in a new stadium.”
