DUBAI: Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf went past teammate Shadab Khan on the ICC T20I bowlers’ rankings and moved within a striking distance of entering into the top ten list after his impressive performance in the ongoing PAK vs NZ T20I series.
Haris, who picked up ten wickets in his last three games, climbed five places to 11th overall on the T20I bowlers’ chart after the latest update of the ICC Players’ rankings on Wednesday.
The right-arm quick bagged four-wicket hauls twice in two days, playing impactful roles in Pakistan’s wins in the first two matches of the five-game series against New Zealand. The Blackcaps, however, bounced back to win the third T20I in which Haris took two wickets.
“The Pakistan quick was just ahead of Shaheen Afridi last week and behind Shadab Khan, who was 12th in the T20I bowling rankings. Ten wickets spread across the first three T20Is has seen Rauf move up five places in the rankings to occupy the 11th spot.” said ICC statement.
“He also achieved career-high ratings of 657 points in the process and could potentially enter the top 10 by the end of the five-match series.”
Meanwhile, left-arm pacer Shaheen(624) has also jumped two spots to occupy 15th place on the rankings.
It may be noted here that Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan and his compatriot Fazalhaq Farooqi hold first and second positions respectively, on the T20I bowlers’ list.
However, on the T20I batting rankings, Suryakumar Yadav, Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam retain the top three spots in respective orders.
