DUBAI: England all-rounder Nat Sciver has been named ICC ODI Women’s Cricketer of the Year besides making his claim on the prestigious Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year.
Sciver bagged both awards after she scored 1346 runs and took 22 wickets from her 33 international matches in 2022.
“The sublime all-rounder produced brilliant performances across all formats and frequently delivered against the highest calibre of opposition,” said ICC.
She notched up five half-centuries and two hundred last year, including her maiden Test hundred against South Africa in June that put England in complete control of the second Test.
Meanwhile, she was a standout performer in the 50-over format where she amassed 833 runs at an average just below 60 and a strike rate of 91.43.
She played a pivotal role in England’s qualification to the final of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022. She scored a stunning unbeaten 148 in the final, chasing Australia’s mammoth 356 but eventually fell short of the target.

The three other nominees for the coveted award were India’s Smriti Mandhana, New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr and Australia’s Beth Mooney.
Meanwhile, the English all-rounder saw off competition from Shabnim Ismail (South Africa), Amelia Kerr (New Zealand) and Alyssa Healy (Australia) on her way to the ODI Women’s Cricketer of the Year award,
