KARACHI: Shadab Khan fought hard with his eye-catching knock of 91 runs but Multan Sultans defended yet another target and beat Islamabad United by 20 runs in eighth match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 7.
Shadab was on song alone as he kept scoring runs for his team despite his partners losing wickets at the other end. Shadab’s knock included five boundaries and nine maximums.
But, Multan held United tight to defend the total twice and win their fourth consecutive match in PSL 7.
Khushdil Shah once again performed with the ball and took four wickets. David Willey bagged another three-wicket haul.
Earlier, Tim David (71) and Rilee Rossouw (67*) scored unbeaten 110-run partnership as Sultans posted Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 7’s highest total 217-5.
David and Rossouw smacked United’s bowlers all around the park. Sent into bat first, Sultans lost their skipper Mohammad Rizwan earlier once against but in-form Masood held things tight from the other end.
Masood scored 43 runs including five boundaries and two sixes. David smashed 71 runs laced with six boundaries and as many sixes. Rossouw, on the other hand, smoked six maximums and four boundaries.
For United, Mohammad Wasim, Hasan Ali and Marchant De Lange bagged a wicket each.
