New Zealand Cricket unveils ODI squad for Pakistan tour

CHRISTCHURCH: New Zealand Cricket (NZC) on Sunday, announced a strong 15-member ODI squad for the much-anticipated tour of Pakistan. 

According to the details, NZC announced two separate squads for away ODI series against Pakistan and India. Kane Williamson will lead the Blackcaps in Pakistan only, while his deputy Tom Latham will take the reigns for India ODIs.

In-form Canterbury all-rounder Henry Shipley received his maiden call-up for the Blackcaps and is likely to feature in back-to-back ODI series against Pakistan and India respectively, in January next year.

Meanwhile, Williamson and veteran pacer Tim Southee will only be available for New Zealand in the ODI series against Pakistan, while Mark Chapman and Jacob Duffy will be part of the squad against India only.

 

Furthermore, Henry Nicholls and leg-spinner Ish Sodhi have been recalled for both series.

It is pertinent to mention that New Zealand will tour Pakistan later this month when they will play a two-match Test series (December 26 – January 7), followed by a three-match ODI series from January 10 – 14.
