Karachi Kings’ squad begins to gather in Karachi ahead of PSL 8

KARACHI: Players and coaching staff have started to gather in Karachi as one of the most loved franchises of the Pakistan Super League, Karachi Kings, are gearing up for yet another exciting season, starting from February 13. 

According to the details, captain Imad Wasim, pace spearhead Mohammad Amir and all-rounder Ben Cutting reached Karachi on Thursday and joined the Karachi Kings squad.

Head Coach Johan Botha and assistant coach Michael Smith also arrived in the city on Thursday morning and will lead the side to their first training season in the evening.

 

Haider Ali, Aamer Yamin, Tayyab Tahir, Qasim Akram, Sharjeel Khan, Irfan Khan and Mohammad Umer had already reported here at a local hotel yesterday.

Star all-rounder Shoaib Malik is currently in Lahore, representing Karachi Kings in the trophy unveiling ceremony and will join the squad later today.

Meanwhile, the rest of the players, especially the foreign picks of Karachi Kings will arrive in the city in due course.

It is pertinent to mention here that PSL season 8 will take place across four venues from February 13 to March 19. The grand ceremony followed by the opening match between defending champions Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans will be held in Multan.

Karachi Kings, on the other hand, will play their first game on February 14 against Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi at National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.
